Dr Dennis Chan is a registered specialist endocrinologist and specialist general physician in Australia. He practices in a wide range of endocrinology and provides consultations on conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid, pituitary, parathyroid and adrenal gland disorders. He is a compassionate physician who enjoys working with patients to help them achieve their best health outcomes.
Following the completion of his medical degree at the University of Otago in 2012, Dennis undertook advanced endocrinology and general medicine training at Dunedin and Christchurch Hospitals in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He became recognised as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2020. In addition, Dennis has also completed postgraduate certificates in women's health from the University of Otago and in clinical ultrasound from the University of Melbourne. He also holds two masters degrees with distinction, including a Master of Bioethics and Health Law from the University of Otago, and a Master of Science in Endocrinology and Diabetes at the renowned Barts and the London School of Medicine. His endocrinology dissertation focused on Cushing’s Syndrome caused by neuroendocrine neoplasms.
Dennis is committed to continued education and evidence-based practice. He is also active in medical research and is currently pursuing a PhD in translational research at the Kolling Institute (University of Sydney and Royal North Shore Hospital) to help improve the management of neuroendocrine neoplasms. For his research, Dennis has received scholarships from the Cancer Institute of New South Wales, Australian Rotary Health and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
In his spare time, Dennis enjoys nature walks, board games and spending time with his family.
